Cornwall Ontario – The Cornwall Colts came out on the short end of a hard fought 5-4 score against the defending CCHL Champion Carleton Place Canadians on Thursday night.
Grant Cooper had 3 points on the strength of one goal (8) and 2 assists to lead the Colts offence.
Tanner Spink (8), Brennan Markell (7) and Matthew Morin (7) also scored for the Colts whose record falls to 16-12-2 (32 points). Ross Craig added 2 assists.
Liam Lascelle suffered the loss. His record falls to 9-5.
The Wendy’s Restaurant 3 stars were 1st Star Connor Merkley (Canadians), 2nd Star Vinny Post (Canadians) and 3rd Star Grant Cooper (Colts).
The Cornwall Toyota Hardest Working Colts Player of the Game was Tanner Spink.
More than 300 teddy bears and stuffed animals were thrown onto the ice at the end of the 1st period. All teddy bears and stuffed animals were collected by members of the Cornwall Optimist Club who will distribute them to less fortunate children in time for Christmas.
The Colts are back in action tomorrow (Friday) night in Gloucester. Game time is 7:30pm.
