Cornwall Ontario – The Chateau Cornwall Knitting Club is pleased to present 140 purple hand-knitted baby tuques to Linda Lanthier (front right), Program Manager, and Diane Runions (front left), Public Health Nurse, at the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU).

The purple tuques were knitted for the EOHU’s “Period of PURPLE Crying” program, and will be distributed to newborns in local birthing hospitals. Along with the tuques, parents will receive information about how crying during the first months of life is a normal part of infant development, how to comfort their baby, and what to do if they’re becoming frustrated or upset.

In addition to their generous contribution of purple tuques for newborns, the Chateau Cornwall Knitting Club also knits for other good causes in the community. In order to allow the Knitting Club to continue their charitable work, donations of wool are greatly appreciated and can dropped off at the front desk of the Chateau Cornwall at 41 Amelia Street, Cornwall.

For more information about the Period of PURPLE Crying program, please call the EOHU’s Health Line at 613-933-1375 or 1 800 267-7120.
