Cornwall Ontario — The Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce’ Assistant Executive Manager, Amy Malyon, is joining the Economic Developers Council of Ontario. The announcement was made jointly by Lezlie Strasser, the Chamber’s Executive Manager and Heather Lalonde, CEO of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario.
“I’m delighted to welcome Amy to our team,” states Lalonde. “In her role with the Chamber, she gained experience in management, events coordination, and liaison with the professional business community. Her background will be invaluable to us once she comes on board.”
For her part, Strasser was pleased with her protegé’s new position. “Of course, I’m sad to see her move on as she has been a tremendous asset to the Chamber and is held in high regard by both the Board and our membership. At the same time, this is an exciting new challenge for her and I wish her all the best.”
Strasser went on to say that although Ms. Malyon is moving to EDCO, she will continue to play a role in Chamber operations. “Amy has agreed to continue her work on the Chamber’s social media sites and will remain as a coordinator of a number of Chamber events such as the Golf Day, BizFest and other business focused activities.”
The Chamber’s current Office Administrator, Chantal Bakker will become the principal contact for members and assume the role of membership development.
