SmartWay Seminar Set for Cornwall June 4ChooseCornwall.ca — The SmartWay Seminar is coming to Cornwall Ontario. Whether conducting business on a global or local basis, individuals and companies need to seek new and innovative ways to stay ahead. Fuel pricing and efficiency are a major concern in the effort to drive down cost. The volatility of fuel pricing and associated fuel surcharges are a significant cost component for carriers and shippers.

While carriers are working hard to increase their fuel efficiency, shippers are now expected to choose carriers that have a sustainability program.

To date, a standardized central source for sustainability tools to benchmark fleets has not been available. SmartWay provides these tools enabling year-over-year evaluation of your company’s progress and providing a mechanism for you to measure your company against other companies in this sector.

SCL Canada will be presenting a seminar geared to help solve some of the above issues. The seminar is entitled Maximize Your Competitive Advantage and will take place Tuesday June 4, 2013 from 11:30 AM – 2 PM at the NAV CENTRE in Cornwall.

The event is expected to attract trucking, logistics and supply chain professionals from across Eastern Ontario.

Through case study and presentations SCL will demonstrate you how you can leverage the benefits of the SmartWay® program to improve your company’s fuel consumption and best practices, enabling you to create a distinct competitive advantage.

About SmartWay

The SmartWay Transport Partnership is an innovative partnership between public and private stakeholders with the shared goal of saving fuel and reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution from the freight transportation supply chain.
It works by linking shippers with an interest in greening their supply chains with SmartWay-recognized fuel-efficient carriers (truck carriers, multi-modal carriers and logistics companies). Other organizations with an interest in greening the freight transportation supply chain can participate as SmartWay Affiliates or Community Members.

Originally launched by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2004, SmartWay has been administered in Canada by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) since 2012.
