Cornwall, Ont – Sunday June 2, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – For a third week in a row, Cornwall Motor Speedway is forced to cancel opening night because of inclement weather, a severe thunderstorm Saturday night combined with rain overnight left no choice to cancel tonight’s race program.
Promoter Ron Morin and his management team would like to apologize to the fans and race teams for these decisions, but the speedway has no control on weather conditions and trying to have race program tonight was impossible with all the accumulated water in the pits and on the track.
Therefore, Mr.Morin is currently working on a reschedule date with DIRTcar, he has confirmed that a doubleheader on the Canada Day weekend will happen as the Big Block will be in town on Sunday, June 30th and on the following night on Monday, July 1st, the first race of the Canadian Nationals would occur along with the possibility of having a DIRTcar tripleheader involving, the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Pro-Stock series, an announcement will be made this week.
Action resumes next Sunday night as Paul’s Auto Body will present a complete race program along with the first visit of the TUSA Mod-Lite Series, it will also be photo and autograph night so bring your camera! Please note that the double features announced for Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock will be removed from the schedule for next Sunday, with 3 cancellations, this left no choice for management.
Again, Ron Morin and his management team would like to express their regrets for all the difficult decisions taken over the last few weeks.
