United Way/ Success By 6 has a Neighbourhood Grant Program that runs in the communities of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. The Neighbourhood Grant Program is a special funded program to encourage individuals, groups and community organizations to develop neighbourhood projects that will make our community a great place for a child to grow up.
United Way/ Success By 6 is proud to say that Rachel’s Kids has be funding the Neighbourhood Grants Program for the past few years. United Way/ Success By 6 is uniquely tailored to the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry region and responds to the identified needs of local families by increasing investment in early childhood development and education and providing support for young children in the community.
Our goal with the Neighbourhood Grant Program, is to see neighbourhood involvement in the lives of children 0-6 and beyond and their families throughout the area of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry
We know that the communities of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry care deeply about the well being of our children. The Neighbourhood Grant Program is designed to help citizen groups bring that care to life in activities that will both strengthen their communities and help ensure the best possible future for our children. Neighbourhood Grants may range from $100.00 to $5000.00.
Here are a few examples of projects that would qualify for funding, a neighbourhood “Family Fun Day” event, including cooperative activities, information sharing or community meal. A gathering to bring neighbourhood families together to share, produce and explore opportunities for community gardens. An organized gathering that introduces fine art and motor skills to young children and their caregivers. Seniors can work with organizations to increase recreational opportunities for young children.
Application forms for the Neighbourhood Grants and information about Success By 6 are available from at the United Way office. Please contact us about your idea before applying. We can offer support in the application process.
