Cornwall Ontario — Mark A MacDonald has issued the following statement: Our elected official’s are completely lacking vision if they allow the General Hospital to be sold to a private group. There is no way that a private group should benefit from this sale, especially if it involves any former hospital board members.
Politicians will always have lots of things to consider and caring for our seniors must be at the top of the priority list. It’s a fact that dealing with the aging population over the next few decades is going to put a huge strain on tax dollars.
Here we are in Cornwall, selling a building that would not only generate revenue, it would help take the pressure off of our waiting lists for LTC beds and other housing and health issues that seniors are facing.
I urge anyone that is concerned about this issue to attend a meeting at the Air Force Wing on Monday night at 6:00 pm. Representative’s from the Hospital Board have been invited to attend.
