I am excited that I have finally decided to get “back in shape” and make fitness a priority once again. Eating healthy is a big factor in maintaining a good level of health as everyone knows and exercise is also important. I am happy to report that I have found two very fun ways to help me stay in good physical shape.
Just as there are many different sizes and shapes of people, everyone is different when it comes to getting in physical shape. For some of you, working out in your own home is a good option – it takes a lot of willpower to be able to discipline yourself to stick to a regular workout schedule on your own and I commend you! For others, joining a gym or membership club is a better option as the financial investment is a motivation for you and the use of the excellent equipment and trainers is beneficial. And then for others, like myself, having a friend with you and doing something fun together in a group makes more sense and allows you to stick to the routine while enjoying yourself. This is where Catherine Seguin and Brent Stang come in (THANK YOU!!). Both of these amazing instructors have made me feel like a part of their fitness family and through their classes each week I have met some new friends, had a great time AND am getting fit at the same time!
Catherine Seguin is a Zumba instructor who holds many certifications including Zumba Instructor, Basic, Toning, Aqua, Sentao, Gold, Core and has attended some international conferences. She loves meeting new people and helping people achieve their personal goals. Whether it be weight loss, getting into shape or being out for a social gathering, her classes are always fun yet effective. Her first class is FREE and her cards are good at any of her locations with no expiry dates. People from ALL fitness levels are welcome including beginners to advanced – as long as you’re moving, smiling and having fun you’re doing it right!

Catherine currently offers classes in the evenings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well as limited time Sunday nights. She also offers a Saturday a.m. class. Check her out on Facebook or her website for more information or to see her class schedules. http://catherine18.zumba.com/
Brent Stang is the Chief Instructor at SDG Taekwondo. However, he teaches much more the traditional Korean Martial Art Do Jang which focuses on success in Home, Schoolwork and Taekwondo. Through his Cornwall branch of the Tae E Lee Moo Kwang system of Taekwondo, he is using his 19 years of experience in this system to teach all aspects of taekwondo. However, it is his Women’s Kick-Fit that has caught MY attention and the attention of several other women here in town.
Join him for a one-hour session offered on Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday evening (you can attend all three sessions for the monthly fee!) and be prepared for a kick-butt workout (literally). This is a full body workout ladies and I guarantee you will not only feel it the next day (and possibly a couple days later as I did my first workout) but you will be coming back for more. Contact Brent on Facebook (SDG Taekwondo) and plan to attend a free first class to see if you love it as much as I do!
