SHARKS QUALIFY FOR CHALLENGE CUP
It took a few days of waiting, but it was well worth it for the St. Lawrence College-Cornwall men’s hockey team, as it was confirmed by the league that the Sharks finished 12th out of 28 teams, capturing the last qualifying spot for the 2014 Challenge Cup. The two-day tournament begins Thursday March 20th, when the Sharks will play George Brown College at 4:30pm.
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
From the SLC-Cornwall Sharks women’s hockey team, Roberta Mamakwa put in an impressive performance at the Seneca College Invitational last week. The Sharks went 3-1 at the tournament, and made it to their fourth consecutive Invitational Championship. Roberta had great chemistry with her line mates in each game as each shift they hit the ice, they created several scoring chances, and proved to be a major challenge against opposing teams. She finished the tournament with two goals, one of which being an impressive goal on one knee.
