Cornwall Ontairo — On Monday, April 28, the Cornwall & District Labour Council is holding its annual ceremony in Lamoureux Park to commemorate workers killed or injured on the job. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The day is a national day of mourning, observed in Canada since with the emphasis on safety practices in the workplace, especially on safety education, and ensuring companies held responsible for conditions in the workplace.
This event takes place Monday April 28th at the Workers’ Monument in Lamoureux Park at 11:45 a.m. Student outreach awards and lunch will be served at the Wing 424 afterwards. The guest speaker is Colin Argyle, of the ODRT, the Occupational Disability Response Team. ODRT is a leader in accident prevention and re-integration of injured workers into the workplace.
