Cover_GoneFishing_CainAndAbel_20140812Local writer Melissa Yuan-Innes, who writes fiction as Melissa Yi, takes centre stage in Kobo’s international Going Going Gone Contest, which runs until October 10th, 2014.
Contestants download three, free Yi short mystery stories, solve the riddle in each one, and become eligible to win $5000 and a Kobo Aura H2O, the world’s first waterproof e-reader.
The stories feature Dr. Hope Sze, the Montreal resident “detective doctor,” who saves lives, solves crimes, and cracks jokes while torn between two compelling men. Kobo’s contest pays tribute to Gillian Flynn’s New York Times bestselling novel Gone Girl, soon to become a movie. Visit http://www.kobo.com/gone for more details.
Melissa will also blog about the behind-the-scene contest details at her website, http://www.melissayuaninnes.com/.

However, local readers can discover more at her Books & Bodies event on Saturday, September 20th. Not only will Melissa reveal the latest Hope Sze novella, “Student Body,” but Joseline Beaulieu of Sunset Yoga will provide a free yoga class and belly dancing demonstration. Melissa and Joseline will appear at R&L’s Book Nook in Alexandria at 10:30 a.m. and at the Cornwall Public Library at 2 p.m.
