Cornwall Ontario — Christmas, a time of year where families come together. Some new traditions are made, and some old ones are kept alive, meals are shared and gifts are exchanged. It is a season of joy, love and sharing. Memories are created every year, and that is what Friends With Hearts Cornwall is accomplishing this holiday season.

Amberly Leger and Justine Viray-Levac have teamed up with Friends With Hearts, to ensure a magical, wonderful Christmas is had for two deserving families selected by the Baldwin House. This is the first year Friends With Hearts Cornwall is in our community. Ambelry discovering FWH through a friendship with the founder Jay Perry of Hamilton, learned that the organization was now open for other cities, and did not hesitate to be a part of restoring the magic Christmas to families in need and jumped on the opportunity to establish a branch in Cornwall to give back to our city.

“Amberly has a huge heart, it is contagious. FWHC is a great way to give back ” says Justine regarding her inspiration to join FWHC. “We both come from large families, and Christmas has always been a fun and memorable time for us. Our hope is to start new memories for both families”.

FWHC has received great support from Cornwallites as well as great support from our downtown Core. Schnitzels European Flavours being a huge supporter by providing the space to be the designated donation spot for all gifts, donating their Banquet room for the Wrapping Party as well as donating proceeds to FWHC. Vu NightSpot donated $400 in door proceeds and had jars made by Amberly and family setup around the establishment for guest to contribute. Other businesses include: Kids Korner, Studio 101 and Duncan McDonald.

“Reaching our goal, in such a short amount of time – filling two shopping carts of gifts is very rewarding” says Amberly. FWHC is also proud to be able to provide both families with $150 worth of groceries for a Christmas family meal. Both girls are feeling very grateful about this whole experience and look forward to giving back in the years to come and hope to continue to grow Friends With Hearts Cornwall within our community.

On Monday December 15th 2014 at 6pm you can find both Amberly and Justine at Schnitzels European Flavours for the Wrapping Party as they get all the gifts prepared for delivery. All are welcomed to lend a hand, so be sure to bring some holiday cheer.
