Cornwall – The Cornwall Colts will be asking fans and supporters to assist in their effort to fundraise money for Neil Doef at this Thursday’s home game vs the Smiths Falls Bears.
Members of Doef Strong will be collected money throughout the game.
Doef, a Smiths Falls Bears forward was paralyzed from the waist down during a game at the World Junior A Challenge in Saskatchewan last month.
Colts fans have already contributed more than $1,100 towards the $100,000 that has been collected to assist Doef as he begins to rehab his spinal injury.
Donations can be made at any Scotiabank to “Doefstrong in Trust” or by e-transfers to [email protected].
On the ice the Colts currently sit 2nd in the Robinson Division with 58 points (26-13-4-2) 6 points ahead of the Bears (23-15-2-4).
Cornwall earned 5 points out 6 points during last weekend’s 3 games while Smiths Falls is coming off a 4-3 win last Sunday in Kemptville.
Game time is Thursday at 7:30pm at the Ed Lumley Arena.
