Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Snow ahead of an intense low pressure system has spread into all warned regions this afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected in most places before the snow changes to freezing rain overnight. The freezing rain is expected to persist for several hours before temperatures rise above zero. The change to rain is expected to occur early Sunday morning for most locales. However, the Ottawa Valley will be the exception as freezing rain could persist until near midday Sunday. Ice accretions up to 15 mm are expected in the Ottawa Valley with 5 to 10 mm forecast for areas further south. After the rain comes to an end, a cold front will sweep through the region Sunday evening, bringing a return to cold temperatures.
