Cornwall – The Cornwall Colts scored early and often in a 6-3 win over the Kemptville 73’s at the Ed Lumley Arena.
The Colts jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first period thanks to goals from Grant Cooper (7), Brennan Markell (3),
Lawson MacDougall (5), Keegan Mulhearn (4) and Dean Derouchie (2). Cooper finished with two goals and an assist. Derouchie, Tanner Spink and Matthew Morin each had two assists.
Liam Lascelle (pictured here) made 35 saves for the victory and was named the Cornwall Toyota Hardest Working Player. Grant Cooper (1st), Matthew Morin (2nd) and Kemptville’s Owen Guy (3rd) were named the Wendy’s 3 Stars of the Game.
The Colts record improves to 6-5-2 for 14 points as they jump two points ahead of Kemptville in the overall standings.
The back end of the home and home is scheduled for Sunday at 2pm in Kemptville.
CAPE Night at the Colts takes place next Thursday, October 15th vs. the Hawkesbury Hawks.
