Cabane à sucre is a French Canada tradition. It gives us the opportunity to have fun together in leaving behind winter and welcoming spring. For generations, it has been a time to come together to enjoy life. A great meal with maple syrup, games, shows and music, what a festival!
Cabane à sucre is an event for all families. A small cabane à sucre will be built in the parking lot. The maple sap will be boiling on the wood stove and children will be able to enjoy taffy. Lucie Hart, president of the Centre culturel de Cornwall told us: ” It`s a wonderful way to end March break. Children will have fun. Everyone will enjoy the shows. It`s a great time to have a taste of maple syrup. “
Starting at 10a.m. on Saturday March 19, there will be activities for children of all ages. There will be shows, a treasure hunt, workshops and so much more. All activities for children are free.
Saturday evening (March 19), we will welcome the adults. A cabane à sucre meal (meat pie, beans, mashed potatoes, salad, and dessert) will be followed by a magic show. Then, it will be time for the major show; Danielle Gregoire will present her show: The essential Ginette Reno. Tickets for the meal and the show are $25.00 if purchased before March 24 or $30.00 at the door.
On Sunday morning March 20, a cabane à sucre breakfast will be served between 10 am and 1 pm. It will be followed
by children activities (for the smallest to the oldest ones) and a treasure hunt. Breakfast is $5.00 but free for children five and under.
