Volunteers needed at Grays Creek for TD Tree Day
Event Sept 17, 2017 Cornwall, ON
(September 7, 2017) The Raisin Region Conservation Authority is proud to announce that we will once again be hosting TD Tree Days, in partnership with TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) Sunday, September 17th between 9am and 12pm at Gray’s Creek Conservation Area.
A total of 300 potted trees and shrubs will be planted which will count towards TD FEF’s goal of planting 50,000 trees this fall nationwide. “Tree plantings provide an opportunity for community involvement and play a vital role in protecting the shoreline from erosion, improving the water quality and creating more wildlife habitat at Gray’s Creek” says Normand Genier, RRCA’s forestry specialist.
This is a family friendly free event that will directly impact the community you live in. If you are unable to personally attend the event in your community please share the event within your network to help us fill the volunteer positions.
