Statement from MP Eric Duncan on new IRCC Asylum Claimant Processing Centre in Cornwall

Cornwall, Ontario — Every year, 3D Creations, under the direction of Sheldon Grant and Mai-Liis Renaud, put on a glamourous bridal show at the Ramada Inn.

The event groups all the local businesses offering products and services such as gowns, photography, halls, DJs and invitations under the same roof.  The future Mrs. registers along with her bridal party to attend this free event where she can pick the “creme de la creme” for her special day.

“We give the brides a goody bag filled with interesting stuff and usually put in a generic bridal magazine,” said Mai-Liis Renaud, event coordinator. “But this year, we decided to partner up with the Local Seeker Media Group and make our own.  The Seeker took care of the artwork and we went to Astro for printing. We are extremely happy with the end result and hope you too, will be impressed with Brides First.”

The content of the magazine is local, from cover to cover and features local businesses, local people and local venues.  From pre-marital advice by the Love Hawk, Shannon Ferguson, to tips on picking out floral arrangements, photographers and wedding destinations, it has it all.

“When it came to choosing the stunning artwork that would become the front of our magazine, we could have gone to a basic stock photo,” said Julia Lucio, Editor of Brides First.  “But because there is so much talent to be found in this area, so many visual geniuses who live and breathe SD&G, it made no sense at all to do so.  So we ran a contest.”

After receiving 25 submissions, the public voted and a photo by Cassandra Tait of Tender Moments Photography was chosen.

The new Brides First Magazine will be available at the Wedding Expo, Sunday October 29 at the Ramada Inn, or at the Seeker Office at 327 2nd Street E., Cornwall.
