CORNWALL, Ontario – While the traditions of Le Village are steeped in French-Canadian culture, some room is being made for Spanish.

El Amigo Jalapeno has opened its doors at 107 Montreal Road, and as soon as you walk in the door there’s no doubt that a little bit of Mexico has migrated north of the border.

Everything from tacos to empanadas, burritos, quesadillas and even gorditas are on the menu.

And it’s all authentic and made fresh on the premises.

“I’ve been living here in Conwall for nine years and I always thought that Cornwall needed something like this,” said owner Antolin Juarez, who originally hails from Veracruz, Mexico. “I am so happy to be located in Le Village and look forward to treating my customers to some fantastic food.”

Fantastic…and then some. There’s no preservatives in the El Amigo Jalapeno offerings, and only the freshest ingredients go into the dishes.

Is guacamole your favourite? They have you covered. Pico de Gallo? It’s on the menu too. What about nachos? No problemo.

“Customers have been eating well and this has been satisfying their craving for Mexican food,” said Juarez.

To make a reservation at El Amigo Jalapeno give them a call at 613-932-2000.
