World Habitat Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October every year to acknowledge the need for safe, affordable housing in communities across the world. The day was first observed in 1986, with each year taking on a new theme to bring attention to the mandate to promote sustainable development policies that ensure adequate shelter for all.

Shoppers and community members can also join Habitat Cornwall at the Cornwall ReStore on Monday, October 1st to celebrate World Habitat Day and have the chance to meet the latest Partner Family.
