Cornwall, Ontario – United Way/Centraide of Stormont Dundas and Glengarry is thrilled to announce that the sixth annual Holiday Wine & Gourmet Tastings event sponsored by Xplornet Communications Inc. had a record-breaking attendance, and was the most successful signature event to date for the United Way of SD&G!
Moving forward the United Way/Centraide of SD&G would like to focus on the IMPACT that we are having in the community. “Every donation, sponsorship and investment that you make with the United Way/Centraide of SD&G is helping our community. It’s not about the big number, it’s about the number
of lives that we are changing in SD&G.” said Meagan Bingley, United Way/Centraide of SD&G Director of Operations. “This event is about kicking off the holiday season, bringing the community together, and raising awareness for the United Way. All of the money that we fundraise stays local in Stormont,
Dundas and Glengarry.“
The event was held Saturday, November 24th at the NAV Centre. Guests enjoyed delicious tastings from Chef Luc McCabe from the NAV kitchen, amazing wines sponsored by CMG Innovations, along with cider and signature cocktails. Guests had the opportunity to bid on silent and live auction items and win
amazing prizes such as diamond earrings courtesy of Pommier Jewelers and designer wallets with a $1000.00 cash tucked inside from Welch LLP. One lucky winner went home with “Wine for a Year”; this prize included 52 bottles of wine from around the world sponsored by Olsonfab Metal Fabrication. Live
entertainment included: David Jans touring the room and dazzling guests with his magic, soft jazz by Robert Cote, and the evening ended with live entertainment from the talented Dueling Pianos.
“The room was electric… over the past five years we have been a part of organizing this night and I think we hit it out of the park this year. The tastings and wine were excellent, the room was alive with excitement and honestly, the response after the event has been so positive. We are looking forward to next year’s event.” said Karen and Ray Brunet, United Way/Centraide SD&G Holiday Wine and Gourmet Chairs.
To all of the sponsors, guests, partnered agencies, and all of the volunteers: We are truly blown away with the continued support of the United Way of Stormont Dundas and Glengarry! You are all United Way Heroes!
