So I tested positive for Covid – Day 4 of isolation

Best Day Ever

I feel great! So great that I managed to get back to working out. Not only did I breeze through the 25 minute high intensity routine, I beat my previous record. Take that Covid!

Then I was told not to exercise. Apparently, it’s important to give your body enough rest while recovering, which means no exercising, no kayaking for two weeks. I’m not happy about that. My kayak is my happy place. My workouts are what keep me going and the thought of putting that on pause is upsetting. I guess I’ll have to take comfort in the fact that I am blessed, just be thankful that I am well and will be able to resume when the time comes.

Not everybody here is doing that great.

John is out of isolation. Trinity is over it. Ezekiel is much better. He’s also upset that the doctor ordered no exercise. It means no Gorilla Tag for a while. Mateo is on my day 2 today, where he is super congested and feeling rough, but his attitude is positive.

But Josh can barely get out of bed. He worries me. He is very lethargic and it’s been 2 days like this. But today was the worst day where he didn’t even get out of his room at all. Poor guy had the roughest time of all of us. I keep checking up on him, making sure he’s drinking. That’s all I can do. Today, his symptoms are more gastrointestinal.

I’m spending time outside, setup my office on my patio table. The sunshine helps. Vitamin D, you know!

My body aches are gone, I don’t have shortness of breath, I’m full of energy, no long covid for this girl… so far. As we’ve seen, this thing is highly unpredictable. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. I’m touching wood.

One thing I do not get is the isolation period system. As I am set to get out of isolation Sunday, I tested myself today. Well, that line became bright red as soon as the liquid touched it. The first positive test took 15 minutes to render. Doesn’t that mean that I have a bigger, more detectable, viral load? Therefore, wouldn’t I be MORE contagious? I’ll test again Sunday, but I may opt to give it a few more days just to be safe.
