It’s almost time for the City’s 2nd Annual Great Big Litter Cleanup Day!

You’re invited to join friends and neighbours on September 16 in a City-wide litter collection effort. The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) of Cornwall & District reached out to City staff in 2021 to kick-start the community event.

Participating is easy:

  1. Sign up online with a group, a friend – or go solo! Choose an area of town where you’d like to collect litter.
  2. Fill out the Waiver Form. Physical copies of the form are also available at pick up locations.
  3. Pick up your supplies. The City will supply all materials: bags, gloves, and stickers for the bags. These will be available at the Benson Centre, the Cornwall Public Library, City Hall, the East End Cornwall Fire Station and the Raisin Region Conservation Authority office at Grey’s Creek
  4. When your bag is full, attach one of the supplied stickers and leave it at the drop off area in your Zone before 8pm on September 16. If you are unable to, leave it at the closet curb and email [email protected] or call 613-930-2787, ext. 2507.City staff will collect the bags and share the community’s grand total.

Jackie Fraser of CFUW Cornwall & District is looking forward to participating again this year with her colleagues and is hoping that the community will also pitch in. “Come and have fun and help us keep Cornwall clean.”
