Cornwall, Ontario – The Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre is asking animal lovers of all ages to help change the lives of animals in need, one step at a time, at its Friends for Life on September 22nd.
The Friends for Life! Walk is a major fundraiser for the Ontario SPCA and participating Affiliate Societies that will take place in 13 communities across Ontario, including Cornwall. Funds raised at the walk support programs and services provided by the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre (SD&G) to the community. There is also a “virtual” walk option for those unable to attend an event in person.
“The Friends for Life! Walk is a fun way for you to give back to your community by helping animals in need,” says Carol Link, Manager, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre. “Even if you don’t have a pet, we encourage you to register now and starting raising funds for your local Ontario SPCA animal centre or humane society.”
More than just a fundraising walk, the Friends for Life! Walk is a fun-filled day that offers something for everyone. The walk will be held at Grays Creek Conservation Area, 18045 County 2 Rd. in Cornwall. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. It’s the purr-fect way to spend a day with friends and family who share a love of animals.
“We can’t do this alone, which is why we need you to go the extra mile to help vulnerable animals,” says Link. “By participating in the Friends for Life! Walk and collecting pledges, you are giving vulnerable animals the care and second chance they deserve.”
