Cornwall Ontario — A story broke on Sunday that Brock Frost sold his majority ownership of the Cornwall River Kings to Darren Madden.
The River Kings sent a press release which confirmed that the transfer of ownership did not have league approval yet.
“Although the transfer of ownership has been legally completed through their attorneys, Madden and Frost will seek official league approval in early December.”
The LNAH Board of Governors has sent out the following statement concerning ownership of the team. This statement, which has been translated from French to English, confirms the league has not been approached concerning a transfer in ownership.
“The LNAH would like to make a statement concerning the Cornwall River Kings after all that has been written and said about the team on social media in recent days.”
“At present, the only owner of the Kings River in Cornwall is Mr. Brock Frost. No request has, to date, been sent to the League for submission to the Board of Governors concerning the transfer of ownership, said LNAH commissioner Michel Godin.
“Mr. Frost has agreed to comply with the regulations and the League constitution. If he wishes to apply for a change of ownership, all must be done properly and heard by the Board of Governors. No further comment will be issued in this case.”
Will the LNAH approve the sale of the Cornwall River Kings? This story is to be continued.
