Cornwall Ontario – The LNAH has given Rodney Rivette and his group until Monday August 29th at 4 p.m. to come up with $370,000 to save the Cornwall River Kings.
Rivette has already raised over $100,000 in pledges, which has certainly captured the league’s attention.
The LNAH will set up a trust for the monies collected until the fans are able to set up the team corporate structure, thus insuring the safe return of the money if the goals are not met in time.
Rodney Rivette will be at the Lions Club Bandshell in Lamoureux Park tonight at 7:30pm, where he’ll be collecting cheques from investors.s
“The response has been amazing. We raised a lot of pledges in a short period of time. The league was very impressed by that. I’m a happy to inform you that the league will entertain our bid to have a fan owned River Kings franchise if we can reach the goal. I have spoken to the league and assured them that we would do our best to raise the money. I can’t do this alone folks now it’s time to open your checkbooks. We have till Monday to make it happen. What we are about to do is write the best chapter in River Kings history,” said Rodney Rivette on social media.
Shares can be purchased at $500 each and that includes a season ticket.
