The Corporation of the City of Cornwall announced today that Mr. John St. Marseille has been named the new General Manager of Infrastructure and Municipal Works, effective July 3rd, 2013.
“I’m pleased to welcome Mr. St. Marseille to the Management team of the City of Cornwall,” said Chief Administrative Officer Norm Levac. “Mr. St. Marseille brings with him a diverse skill set and a wide range of experience in the areas of municipal infrastructure and the environment as well as a local knowledge of the City.”
Mr. St. Marseille’s experience includes a 21-year career with GENIVAR (formerly the Thompson Rosemount Group) where he most recently served as Senior Director – Environment for Eastern Ontario. In that capacity, he collaborated with a team of engineers, technologists, technicians and biologists working on projects throughout Eastern and Central Ontario.
In addition, Mr. St. Marseille has experience managing a variety of municipal projects in the areas of water and wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring, brownfields, solid waste management and diversion. His experience also consists of volunteer work on several City committees, including the Waterfront Development Committee (1994-2000), Pesticide Use Advisory Committee (2007-2008), the Cornwall Carbon Reduction Initiative (2007-2011) and the Municipal Environmental Advisory Committee (2006 to present).

As General Manager of Infrastructure and Municipal Works, Mr. St. Marseille will oversee the City’s Infrastructure Planning, Environment, Municipal Works and Transit Divisions.
A proud Cornwall resident, Mr. St. Marseille is heavily involved in his community through a number of groups and organizations such as Team Cornwall, Cornwall Sea Lions, Cornwall Multi-Sport Club, Cornwall Cycling Club, St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences and Professional Engineers Ontario, among others.
