Cornwall, Ontario – A good sized crowd gathered tonight, Friday, November 23rd, to watch the lighting of the Cornwall Christmas tree in front of the Justice Building on Pitt Street. Everyone was entertained with Christmas music by the Cornwall Firefighters, performers from the musical “Elf” and the choir from La Citadelle, while all enjoying hot chocolate.
A draw took place amongst the children in attendance to choose someone to help Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy and Santa Claus light the tree. The lucky ticket holder was Caydence Andre who sat patiently with her cousin River Thacker until the count down ended and she got to press the special button which turned on the Christmas Tree lights.
Three, two, one – the Christmas Season in Cornwall has officially begun!
