Cornwall Ontario – The River Kings will host a “Domtar Tribute Night” on Saturday, Oct. 25 when two-time defending champions Jonquière pay a visit to the Civic Complex.
All former Domtar employees will be allowed access to the game for only $5.
“Cornwall is clearly changing,” said owner Brock Frost. “But we cannot forget the past.”
While the Seaway International Bridge is currently being torn down and eventually the Domtar site will be re-developed, more and more retirees are calling Cornwall home. “As Cornwall shifts toward its new image, it is important to remember that Domtar was the backbone of our economy for decades,” said Frost.
On Oct. 25, there will be a special roped-off area for Domtar guests where a reunion photo for the group will take place. Several key announcements from former Domtar employees will also be highlighted.
“In my entire career working at Domtar no one has ever done anything like this for us before,” said former employee Jim McDonald.
“It is truly nice to be recognized and appreciated by Brock and the River Kings,” said Bernie Larue.
Tickets can be purchased beginning Monday, Oct. 6 at the River Kings office during regular business hours. To reserve tickets, former Domtar employees can contact Frost directly at 613-362-2461 or by email at [email protected].
