ST-GEORGES – Rookie forward Jeremy Vigneault-Belanger scored three goals to lead the Cool FM to a 5-3 comeback victory over the River Kings on Friday night.

Cornwall, which led 3-1 late in the second period, lost for the fifth straight game.

Vigneault-Belanger, who levelled the score earlier in the third, netted the eventual game-winner on his hat-trick goal with 4:22 to play in the contest. St-George would add an empty netter with seven seconds left to ice the victory.

Anthony Mezzagno and Derek Famulare had first-period markers for the River Kings. Doug Andress added a powerplay goal for Cornwall in the second. Pierre-Luc Faubert and Michael Tessier each chipped in a pair of assists for the River Kings.

Loic Lacasse turned aside 39-of-43 shots but took the loss in goal for the Cornwall (2-9). The River Kings were outshot 44-38.

Cornwall is back in action next weekend with back-to-back home contests. On Friday, Nov. 14, the River Kings host St-George (8 p.m.) and on Saturday, Nov. 15, Cornwall welcomes Trois-Rivieres to the Civic Complex (7:30 p.m.).
