Cornwall Ontario — Be spirited away by this new stage adaption of Hans Christian Andersen’s fantastical coming-of-age adventure Frozen based on the story The Snow Queen. Dream Maker Productions brings to stage “Frozen” The story of two sisters, who have to come to terms with the fact that you can’t run away from your problems; that sometimes you have to ask for help from people, who may seem to be the unlikely source of trust and that friendship can be found everywhere. But even more important, it is a story of the love shared between two sisters, and a bond that can’t be broken despite any hardships that come their way.

Join Anna (Natalie Carroll) on a dangerous and whimsical quest to save her sister The Snow Queen (Elizabeth O’Connor), before she is trapped forever in the palace of snow and ice, because each day she spends alone, her heart grows colder. Joining Anna in this quest is the young hero, played by Cameron Brunet along with his trusty reindeer (Morgan Aitkens). The protagonist is played by Jasper Ross who is seeking the throne with the help of the evil Duke (Jana Hickman).

“After years of doing many of the old classics,” states Director Richard Boyer, “this is one of the newest shows we have done since High School Musical. We have put together an excellent cast, and an exciting show that is suitable for the whole family.”

Although, the story is a familiar one to most young people today, we have brought back a few memorable characters from the original book. Meet the Ravens (Liam O’Connor, Angeline Moshonas, Amelia Levac) who entice the audience with their humour, witty dialogue, and mischievous antics. The robber girl (Ava Cleary) tries to capture Anna as one of her pets only to realize that all living things are meant to be set free. (this is a very sensitive element that wasn’t included in recent versions). The story has riddles yearn to be solved, and a fun musical score that will have everyone singing along with familiar songs. You’ll soon see this is not your average bedtime story.

The show features a talented cast that brings this endearing story to life with imagination, music, special f/x and a unique set. This lively performance will captivate the audience as they participate and follow the cast through their adventures. Treat your children this Christmas to an affordable family show and a great live theatre experience. Show dates are Dec. 6th & 7th at St. Lawrence Secondary School with shows at 11:00 & 1:00. Tickets are $ 5.00 and are available in advance at Melody Music. For information or to reserve tickets, call 932-3510.
