Cornwall Ontario (CornwallColts.com) — Ryan Patulli had one goal and two assists to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 7-4 victory over the Kanata Stallions.
Patulli beat Brian Wilson with a shot 9:48 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Cornwall. Tristen Elie picked up the assist. Patulli dished an assist on Jeremy McFarlane’s goal that made the score 4-2 Cornwall at 18:26 into the second period. He added another helper on Nick Lalonde’s goal that made the score 6-3 Cornwall at 16:28 into the third period.
Cornwall forced Kanata’s goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 40 shots and forcing 33 saves. Wilson made 17 stops and Kevan Dumouchel made 16. The Colts surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Cornwall averages 3.5 goals per contest.
Cornwall also got points from Hugo Petit, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cornwall included Lawson MacDonald, Keegan Mulhearn, and Marly Quince, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Lawson MacDougall, who had two and Jay DAmour, Peter Angelopoulos, and Zac Tierney, who each chipped in one.
The Stallions excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Kanata kept the Colts’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Denny Dubblestyne made 30 saves on 34 shots.
The Stallions were led by Tyler ONeill, who racked up one goal and one assist. ONeill scored on the power play 13:54 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Cornwall. Kanata had gained a power play chance when Simon Besner was whistled for tripping. Jean-Philippe Langlois provided the assist. Kanata also had goals scored by Domenic Camastra, Ian Johnston, and Nicholas Turenko, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Cameron Radziwon, James Thomson, and Arik Breton, who contributed one each.
Cornwall incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Stallions incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
