Every person more or less counts a place of their dreams, or at least their comfort where he plans to build a home. But as you get closer to reality, it’s quickly realized how there are unnumbered factors that concern you about where your home should be. Maple Ridge is rising as a popular choice for new families and home buyers, but why is it worth it? Is it actually worth moving here?

About Maple Ridge

Maple ridge is a multicultural region located in the states of British Columbia, Canada. On one side of it lies the Fraser river and the Golden eras Mountains on the other. It hasn’t been long since it turned itself as a city from a small community and already gathered a population over 80,000. The city consists of both an urban structure besides the existing rural lifestyle. The location is an adventurous site for the eye that lists mountains, water bodies, villages, and vast more natural views for the residents to explore. The neighborhoods around here are diverse too giving a person the scope to choose his preferred environment.

Perks of living in Maple Ridge

Of course, the best part about living in Maple ridge is its outdoor experience. From diving into the freshwater lakes like Pitt lake to shopping downtown, the city has it all. The Kanaka Creek park alone has several activities to offer including showing off its richness in art where several local artists join to showcase their work. The residents can interact with different species of fauna, hike on trails, or enjoy picnics in lush gardens. This city is worth living to refresh mental health and live an active life.

The routes are well developed in the city of Maple Ridge. The ferry terminals and airports are just a few minutes drive away and there are public transits available for use to travel to other cities. There is a central hospital in the locality that provides service 24/7 and its services are adequate to handle any moderate healthcare issue. All together, the city has kept itself under good contact with all needed facilities.

Not to forget, Maple Ridge keeps a steady eye on the education system available for its residents too. The city has in total 22 elementary secondary schools for primary education. For higher education, students can move to neighboring cities that have some of the best colleges in Canada. There are partnered training and higher education programs that allow more kids to access quality education and pursue brighter careers.

As blissful residing here sounds, there are some major concerns too. Though Maple Ridge may feel all peaceful and jolly, the city is packed with some awful traffic. Since the main amenities are around the corners of the central portion of the city, the rush hours can become horrific. Day and night, the Maple ridge is seen to be in a hustle all time.

While Maple Ridge offers great neighborhoods with diverse cultures, the rate of crime has been increasing alarmingly too. More cases of car stealing, drug dealing, illegal property damage, etc. are being heard lately. This puts a sense of security into action into the mind of a new resident.

Living costs in Maple Ridge

To start with, the houses listed for sale in Maple Ridge are quite affordable and cheap compared to the other cities in canada. The former markets show that the houses here price at least 17% less than former ones. The most common house types are condos, townhomes, and single-family houses. One can easily get a house starting from single to seven bedrooms with sizes upto 5,000 square feet. Be it an apartment or two-storied residence, a place having minimum 3 bedrooms under $1,000,000 is an easy find. There are apartments offering 1 bed and bath perfect for single residents and the prices are usually from $100,000 to $400,000 depending on the selected neighborhood.

Moving onto the next step, the living cost after buying a house for a single person in Maple ridge is close to $2,000 monthly and it moves higher if rent adds up. For home buyers, the main expenses would be transportation, utilities, groceries, and community fees. The commute system in Maple Ridge not being so strong, owning a car becomes quite essential leading to monthly gas expenses of at least $700. It has been ranked as one of the world’s top 21% costly cities to live in. Moreover, If you have a baby or young kids, childcare costs are going to add up as well. On average it costs $1,400 every month if you need daycares and other support to take care of them. But if daycares and babysitters are avoidable, it would be possible to save slightly over $1,000.

If all the dots are drawn together at the end, Maple ridge is undoubtedly a city to top your bucket list for having a home. Living a life in this wide field of natural craze is healthy for any adult or child. Just the side notes are that it gets a little bit expensive. Obviously less than Vancouver, but it is still heavier on people with average income. Other than that, some healthy and strategic financial planning by taking advantage of its cheap housing facilities, it would be a worthy investment of moving to Maple Ridge.
