Today I am going to teach you how to make a “Zine Book”.

What are Zine books?
A zine is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated texts and images. More broadly, the term encompasses any self-published unique work of minority interest, usually reproduced via photocopier Why is it called a zine? Zines were first created in the science fiction fandoms of the 1930s, taking their name from fanzine, which is short for “fan magazine.” Long before the advent of the Internet, zines allowed fans to create networks, share ideas and analyses and collaborate on writing and artwork.

I personally got acquainted with this type of art a few months ago and fell in love with it and am currently making my own books and I do share this love in my workshops and art sessions – I see that this type of art – provides the opportunity for individuality and independent expression of oneself – provides the opportunity for artistic independence – and free expression.

I will make and create arts during the next workshop – in cooperation with: Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area and https://www.facebook.com/librarycornwallontario/ At my upcoming workshop at the Library are taking place Tuesday September 20th, 27th, October 4th and 11th from 6pm to 7pm – Only $10 per session. Register at : YafaArtWorkshop.eventbrite.ca watch my Video on my page https://www.facebook.com/yafacrafts creating a Zine book: https://fb.watch/f4DlWl9tUh/

How do you make a zine book?

Step 1: Fold your sheet of paper in half.

Step 2: Open your paper so that it is folded in half.

Step 3: Fold your paper lengthwise (along the crease that has the slit).

Step 4: Now it’s time for you to fill in your blank booklet and turn it into a zine!

Step 5: And that’s it!
