Media Release from the CCH Newsroom
Cornwall, Ontario – Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) has reported that it has made significant progress since identifying the cyber incident on April 11th. Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) had identified a network issue, which an investigation revealed to be a cyber incident. The hospital retained external cyber experts to work with their technical team to resolve the issue.
CCH has largely now returned to its standard approach to patient care, with clinical activity volumes (emergency, inpatient, surgical, etc.) back to accustomed levels. While there have been delays regarding patient access to some services (particularly with respect to Diagnostic Imaging, such as X-rays, CT-scans, MRIs, etc.), they generally expect improvement in access to these services within the next week. They are also continuing to manage some support functions, including payroll, staff scheduling, etc., through alternative solutions for the time being. The CCH will provide further updates on this front when they become available.
The local hospital wishes to thank the public for their patience and support. They are working full throttle with their partners to minimize any inconvenience these issues may cause and ensure that CCH’s return to standard operations resumes as soon as possible. Please continue to visit the CCH website or the hospital’s social media channels to stay informed.
