Cornwall, Ontario – ExperienCity is thrilled to announce the upcoming celebration of Ryan Gosling Day, an event honouring the illustrious career and remarkable contributions of the acclaimed actor, musician, and advocate for equality, Ryan Gosling. Taking place on July 21st, this colourful occasion will unite fans, cinephiles, and community members to commemorate Gosling’s indelible impact on the realms of film, music, and social justice.
Renowned for his versatility and magnetic on-screen presence, Ryan Gosling has captivated audiences around the globe with his unparalleled talent and dedication to his craft. From his breakout performances in “The Believer” and “Half Nelson” to his critically acclaimed roles in “La La Land” and “Blade Runner 2049,” Gosling has solidified his status as one of the most accomplished actors of our time.
Beyond his cinematic achievements, Gosling has also emerged as a passionate advocate for equality and social change. Barbie Film Screening at 10 am: We are having a private screening in the morning, where we will roll out the pink carpet at Galaxy Cinemas and enjoy the film with local organizations.
Proclamation at 2 pm: At the Justice Building Courtyard, join us as we celebrate and reminisce about Ryan’s time growing up in Cornwall, his family, friendships and stories of overcoming barriers and challenges and eventually, taking the world by storm. Special guests such as Senator Bernadette Clement will be speaking at the event, with more guests being announced. Small Feather Empire will be showcasing a handmade Indigenous medallion to honour his empowerment of women.
Community Placemaking (before/during/after the event): We invite the community to “Paint the Town Pink” – metaphorically of course! We are encouraging people to do some fun outdoor placemaking to celebrate this momentous occasion in the City of Cornwall. We encourage community members to print off some Ryan signs and place them in their windows, decorate their front yard, and chalk up their streets with messages for Ryan and his family.
