Spiritualist art, also known as spirit art or mediumistic art, is a unique form of painting deeply influenced by spiritualism. It’s played a significant role in shaping modern art as we know it today.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of spiritual art and its connection to our souls. Art is like a gentle hug for the soul, a way to heal and express our innermost feelings. Throughout history, art in forms like music, dance, theater, and painting has been a bridge between our emotions and the world around us.
I believe that creating more art spaces in our communities leads to happier, healthier connections among people. This is the heart of the Cornwall Art Hive, a project I started about two and a half years ago with the support of our local art council. It’s a special place where everyone, from seniors to children, can come together to create and share art in a judgment-free environment.
The Cornwall Art Hive has blossomed into something really special, a project that feels like a warm hug for our community. It all started during a time when the world felt a bit lonely, about four months into the pandemic. I thought, “Why not talk to each other through art?” It was a wish that came true! People began to join, bringing their own art supplies, and together, we became a family of artists.
This year, something really wonderful happened. The city of Cornwall gave us a gift – a grant to create even more art together. It’s so important for everyone in our neighborhood to have a place to share their thoughts and feelings, and that’s what the Art Hive is all about. It’s a place where we can all come together, make art, and create beautiful memories.
