Believe them when they show you who they are

The biggest danger to this country is the man who is running against our Prime Minister in the next election, Pierre Poilievre. Just this week, there emerged video of him taking a roadside tour of “Freedom Convoy” protesters on the East Coast. However, what made it particularly concerning was the Diagolon flag proudly drawn on the door of their white trailer.

According to Wikipedia: “Diagolon is a Canadian alt-right organization, conceived by podcaster Jeremy MacKenzie. The US Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism has called it a far-right “extremist” group. It was mentioned in news coverage of the Canada convoy protest.”

Yes, Massena’s Hurting — But Don’t Look at Us

This isn’t the first time we have seen the opposition leader hobnobbing with the extremist group, he denied knowing who Jeremy MacKenzie was when he met him and had his picture taken with him in 2022. He said in response to the public backlash at that time: “Over the course of my campaign I have shaken hands with literally tens of thousands of people at public rallies. It is impossible to do a background check on every single person who attends my events.”

So, what’s the excuse this time? This group is a designated terrorist group, they allegedly used sexually threatening language towards his wife which he denounced back in September of 2022.

With anything Pierre is doing, we must talk about the support our MP throws behind him. There is truly no bottom to this party, their actions. We must be vigilant and call out extremism when we see it.

In the midst of so many social problems taking place in our community, Eric Duncan continues to crusade using rage farming as a tiresome tactic. He continues to use simplistic slogans like “Axe the Tax” and “Build the Homes” which are shallow and hollow words. What actual policies are they presenting to deserving Canadians?

They don’t have a plan about how they will make life more affordable for Canadians. It isn’t just about axing a tax. It’s about time they turn their back on the $1700 a plate fundraisers with their lobbyist friends. It’s time they actually worked for the people.

We can just turn to what Doug Ford said when he was going to stop the gravy train of Kathleen Wynne. Turns out the Conservatives were planning to ride the gravy train the whole time with backroom deals with their lobbyist and developer friends.

If you’ve been paying attention, a majority of society is struggling with overwhelming challenges like drug overdoses & addiction, mental health, social isolation, domestic violence, poverty, and a really big challenge that the Conservatives don’t dare speak of, climate change.

It’s exhausting to watch Eric be in such a position of privilege and not actually use his power to help people. When Diane Hebert died tragically in the homeless encampment, where was his statement? Where was his advocacy when the bridge toll went up at the border crossing? Where was he on the issue of safety when it came to one of his constituents receiving death threats?

Who is he fighting for? Not the small businesses who are closing because of the dire economic situation or the decline of downtowns.

Eric isn’t going to meet the moment and Pierre won’t last given his inability to be a serious and decent candidate for Canadians. Until then, please pay attention to not what they say, but what they actually do.

It isn’t much, unless it’s to get themselves clicks or likes on social media.
