The Social Development Council, in partnership with Intention Matter, organized an incredible event that brought us all together. This gathering was for those passionate about channeling their energy and efforts into a vision for our community’s youth. The event was a chance for young people to connect, express themselves, and share their ideas.
This was just one of many future events aimed at creating a platform for our youth to voice their wishes and intentions. At the Yafa Arts and Crafts booth, I facilitated an art activity where we invited the youth to write down what “community” means to them. The response was fantastic, with families and young people engaging in meaningful conversations about this topic.
It was a wonderful experience to be there. I also led a small workshop where I shared my belly dance energy with the youth, emphasizing that art is a powerful form of connection. There are no right or wrong ways to create art; it’s about coming together and expressing ourselves.
I’m deeply grateful to have been part of this vibrant event and to contribute to building a network where everyone supports each other. It’s inspiring to see all the organizations working together for the benefit of our community and our youth, knowing that we’re all connected and working towards a shared future.
Our community’s commitment to providing a creative and safe space for youth and families is crucial for a secure future. I’m excited about the prospect of future events that foster creativity and connections, and I believe that creating a safer and happier future starts with the efforts we make today.
