Alexandria will host its very first Literary and Culinary Festival on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Founded by French-speaking entrepreneurs with a passion for the literary and culinary arts, the event aims to offer an immersive, welcoming, and inclusive experience to Francophone and Francophile families from Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
The festival will be centered around sharing and will bring together authors, professionals, and enthusiasts. Throughout the day, visitors will be invited to take part in an interactive program that brings literature, gastronomy, and local food traditions together.
On the menu:
- Opening and land acknowledgement
- Two interactive workshops offering an immersive experience in writing and cooking
- In-person conversations with professionals: regional authors and specialists in all things good
- Interviews with two of them
- Children’s activities and a few surprises throughout the day
- Closing with the audience’s choices
The Literary and Culinary Festival is built around four core values that will guide both its organization and the festival experience:
- The joy of sharing good words and good food
- Respect for others, nature, and food
- Environmental responsibility: striving for a zero-waste event
- Slowing down to savour what surrounds us
- A First Edition Focused on Community
“We want to create an annual gathering where people can slow down, meet passionate individuals, and discover the pleasure of creating and sharing,” explain the founders.
The festival will therefore offer Francophone and Francophile families from Eastern Ontario and Quebec an opportunity to come together in a warm and welcoming setting, discover regional talent, and enjoy a new cultural and culinary experience.
