Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Valleyfield, QC, was arrested on Jan. 8, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:
- Five counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Two counts of criminal harassment – repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct
- Break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
- Harassing communications
- Two counts of criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
On Dec. 4, 2025, a member of the Cornwall Police Service was dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged he repeatedly and unlawfully entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence. It is further alleged the man harassed his ex-girlfriend, causing her to fear for her safety, and repeatedly communicated with the woman. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Dec. 7, 2025, police were dispatched to a police information call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to refrain from possessing, carrying or acquiring any weapons. He was also bound by a weapons prohibition order. It is further alleged the man posted videos on social media in which he brandished a weapon, causing his ex-girlfriend to fear for her safety. As a result of the investigation, police formed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.
It is alleged on Dec. 28, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man harassed his ex-girlfriend by repeatedly communicating with the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, another warrant was issued for his arrest.
It is alleged on Dec. 29, 2025, the man was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man harassed his ex-girlfriend by repeatedly communicating with the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, another warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Jan. 8, 2026, the man was located by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Valleyfield, QC. He was taken into custody by the OPP’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) unit and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrants were executed, the man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM
Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 8, 2026, and charged with domestic assault and domestic assault causing bodily harm. On Jan. 8, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer responded to an intimate partner violence call for service, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Jan. 7, 2026, the man assaulted his wife and caused bodily harm to the woman. On Jan. 8, 2026, the man was located by CPS officers. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 8, 2026, and charged with domestic assault. On Jan. 8, 2026, CPS officers responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman assaulted her ex-boyfriend. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was released to appear in court on Feb. 3, 2026.
WARRANTS
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Chesterville, ON, was arrested on Jan. 9, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Jan. 28, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged on March 22, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest. In the early morning hours of Jan. 9, 2026, the man was taken into custody by members of the OPP and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrants were executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.
