FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old woman from Winchester, ON, was arrested on Jan. 14, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Dec. 12, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report in-person to the bail supervision program. She failed to comply, and as a result, police established reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Jan. 14, 2026, the woman attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 14, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Breach of recognizance
  • Harassing communications

On Jan. 12, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate directly or indirectly with his ex-spouse, as well as a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man contacted his ex-spouse’s employer and engaged in harassing conduct toward the woman. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Jan. 14, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 14, 2026, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Oct. 29, 2025, and again on Oct. 30, 2025, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store on both occasions without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Jan. 14, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matters. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Glen Robertson, ON, was arrested on Jan. 14, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On Jan. 9, 2026, members of the CPS began investigation a sexual assault complaint. It is alleged on Dec. 15, 2025, the man sexually assaulted a woman known to him. It is further alleged he harassed the woman by repeatedly communicating with her. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on the charges of sexual assault and criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate. On Jan. 14, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 14, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Jan. 13, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting. On Jan. 14, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 15, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and domestic assault. In the early morning hours of Jan. 15, 2026, members of the CPS responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged he assaulted his girlfriend. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.
