WINCHESTER, ON – True stories, live music and a good cause will share the stage at Winchester United Church this October, as A Bunch of People Arts and Events (ABOP) presents its sixth annual evening of storytelling and live music.
The community event, billed as A Cozy Night of Stories and Music, will run twice: Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. All profits will be donated directly to the House of Lazarus to support its local outreach initiatives.
Directed by Harmony Koiter, this year’s production features seven local storytellers sharing true, personal stories centred on themes of bravery, triumph, laughter and wisdom, accompanied by live musical performances.
“What is better than having a good time? Knowing the money you spent goes to charity,” said Amanda Burger, President of ABOP. “That is the Art of Giving, and that is what A Bunch of People Arts and Events is all about.”
The 2026 storyteller lineup includes Michelle Robichaud, Patrick Burger, Bob Joiner, Pamela Burke, Steve Brown, Erika Sears and Harmony Koiter. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Gary Pelow, Toissef Bakache, Wayne Stoute, Suzanne Millaire and Amanda Burger.
ABOP is an Ontario-based non-profit arts and events collective dedicated to hosting community entertainment, with all event profits donated directly to local charities.
This year’s beneficiary, House of Lazarus, is a non-profit organization that works with the community to ensure people have the basics of life. Its food bank and outreach programs offer food, clothing, household goods, furniture and housing supports to individuals and families in need, striving to fill gaps in services and resources.
