Cornwall, ON – April 30, 2018 – Bruno Ielo from Big Brother Canada will be in Cornwall on Saturday May 5th to participate in the Walk for Alzheimer’s. He was the first to sign the Wall of Memories with a message of support and he challenges both his fans and everyone who has a connection to someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, to add their own message.
Three out of four Canadians know someone with dementia. Bruno is one of them. His grandmother is now living with dementia and he wants to help us understand. In her honour, he will be in Cornwall to share a little about his grandmother and to show his support behind the services offered by the Alzheimer Society
On Saturday May 5th, Bruno will be at the Walk for Alzheimer’s as one of the guests speakers, helping participants understand a bit more about dementia and how it affected his family. He is excited to be back in Cornwall for this fundraising event:
“I am so happy to be in Cornwall to support the community in this way. I am always looking for ways to give back and this invitation meant so much to me because my Nonna is now living with dementia.”
The Walks are the Alzheimer Society’s biggest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The funds collected during the Walk will be used locally to support the delivery of adult day programs, recreation services, First Link® supports and education programs, as well as the dementia friendly community training – – all of which are designed to help people living with dementia, their families and their care partners to live better.
