Cornwall, Ontario – Four local bands, Bordertown Catz, Loose Leaf, Moonlight Ride, and Radio Nova raised the roof at the Royal Canadian Legion on October 13th to benefit Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties. The Royal Canadian Legion graciously donated the space for the evening and all of the bands donated their time and talents.
With the support of the bands and the community, a total of $7,002 dollars was raised at the inaugural Raising the Roof for Habitat benefit concert. All of the bands are already looking forward to next year’s event.
At the event, current Habitat Partner Family Shane and Ashley Lauzon, were on hand the share their story and thank community members, the bands and donors for their wonderful support.
Morin Tire & Alignment supported this event as a bronze sponsor and a large number of community businesses supported a very successful silent auction, which raised over $1,900.
Proceeds from this event were directed to Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties and will assist in the efforts to continue to build hope and homes in local communities.
