The SDG Library is preparing to bring in-person library services back with the launch of curbside pick-up at six branches. Starting Monday, June 15th, patrons will be able to start borrowing books, DVDs and other print materials again with pick-up locations at Alexandria, Crysler, Ingleside, Lancaster, Morrisburg and Winchester branches.
Patrons will be able to place holds on items either online or by contacting Library branch staff. When requested items are ready, staff will contact those patrons to arrange pick-up and items will be safely packaged for delivery to the patron’s car.
“We have taken a lot of care to ensure we can offer this service safely,” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “Curbside pick-up allows us to start to provide Library materials that people have been missing, while continuing to protect everyone involved.”
The SDG Library recently re-opened the book return bins at all fifteen branches so patrons could start to return borrowed items. Book drops had been locked since March 16 when the branches closed to the public. Returned items go into quarantine for 72 hours before they can be borrowed again.
