At this point in time, when there is so much going on in the world that is separating people, it is more important then ever, for us to connect with each other in a positive way, don’t you think? and what better way to connect is there than through ART.
Lately I have attended a few events hosted by The Cornwall Art Hive and when you go to their Facebook Page, this is what you see as a description which I think is just perfect.
“We get together to create Art – all are welcome – there is no right or wrong in Art – there is only accepting and welcoming – opening to the Art energy.”
The Cornwall Art Hive has three permanent monthly programs:
1. Visit to the artist studio (online) – Taking place the first Saturday of every month.
2. Meet in person to create art. Everyone is welcome, all material is furnished for this FREE family fun event – Taking place the third Saturday of every month from 1-3pm (for now meeting at the Cornwall Square and then when the weather gets nice these meetings will be held outside at Lamoureux Park).
3. Every last Saturday of the month, join the Cornwall public Library and the Cornwall Art Hive in this self exploration within the arts at the Art Hive at the Library! From noon to 1pm the library is happy to welcome children in the 2nd floor and let them discover multiple art supplies all of which are supplied in this FREE, Fun workshop!
I visited the library for the first Cornwall Art Hive event and was happy to see the Children’s Story Time Space buzzing with activity.
There was actually so much activity that the next event, which will be held on Saturday, March 26th from noon to 1pm will be moved into a bigger area so that more people can attend to “ride without fear in in this artistic journey!” The event is open to all ages.
In the above photo, second from last, you can see (from left to right) Samantha Mercer, Virtual Program Coordinator at the library, Yaffa Goawily from the Cornwall Art Hive, and Pierre Dufour, Programming and Marketing Manager at the Library with Yaffa’s son showing the button that he made with Richard Salem (from YAC – Your Arts Council – sponsors of The Cornwall Art Hive. Richard is seen in several photos helping kids make their buttons!
The Cornwall Art Hive is also hosting a St. Patrick’s Day ART event at the Cornwall Square on Thursday, March 17th from 1pm to 3pm where you will get to “Create with Green”.
