Cornwall Ontario — The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 launched its annual Poppy Campaign on Friday, October 30th.
During the period leading up to Remembrance Day, millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a symbol of national pride and respect, a visual pledge to never forget.
The poppies will be on sale at stores and shopping centres throughout the City and funds raised are used to support Canada’s serving and retired Veterans and their families.
“The City of Cornwall is pleased to support this important campaign and I would encourage all residents to show their support,” said Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy.
