Cornwall, On — There are many reasons why we have posted this status today.
For one, if the Aztecs were right, tomorrow will mark the end of the world. Therefore, your favorite local publication will cease to exist, along with everything else. If this is the case, farewell. It’s been fun. This job is rewarding in so many ways. Over the last 2.5 years, we have had the honour and privilege of interviewing countless people who contribute to making Cornwall a better place. We always focused especially in bringing to light the many gems Cornwall has to offer, be it a new businesse or an artist.
Your support and patronage has always been appreciated and your opinions welcomed. We always wanted to make this paper one you could call your own, and that’s truly what it has become. It is YOURS.
Chances are that the end of the world will not happen tomorrow. You most likely will wake up in the morning and nothing will have changed. You will resume your Christmas shopping and start to prepare for the long lineup of parties coming your way. But even if it isn’t the end of the world for everyone, it is, for us at the Local Seeker, the end of an cycle.
With the new year will come new things. Your local community paper is growing and improving. While remaining local, it is evolving and taking new steps in reaching out to you, our readers. New video sections will be launched, the website will be revamped, new columns will be added and exclusive web content will now start to see life. This new, fresh, slick look will also be launched in print. The Seeker Chicks remain, but are ready to start 2013 with a bang! Strategic Partnerships and alliances with major players in the franchising world are also being established as we speak in order to bring the Seeker to other communities near you.
So in many ways, it is the last issue EVER of the Local Seeker as you know it. Stay tuned for all the excitement in early January.
Seeker Chick Julia, OUT!
