The Tim Horton Bowl for Kids Sake is just 2 weeks away. This is the biggest event Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and District puts on. The Agency is celebrating 40 years in service this year and 38 years doing this annual fundraiser which was once called “Bowl for Millions”.

Now 38 years later its official name is the “Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake”. In 2009 Tim Hortons came on as the title sponsor of this event. “This event would not be possible without the sponsors; Tim Hortons helps make this day as successful as it is.” Says Amanda Brisson, Executive Director.

Tim Horton’s sponsorship of Bowl for Kids Sake is instrumental in the success of the event which is the agency’s largest fundraiser. Without the Tim Horton’s Bowl for Kids Sake, Big Brothers Big Sisters would not be able to serve the hundreds of children in their seven mentoring programs every year the way they do now.

Not only do the local Tim Horton’s owners sponsor the event and donate prizes to make it a success, but the bowling lanes are filled with Tim Horton’s employees on the day of the main event. They come out in force to support this fundraiser every year and there are always more teams representing Tim Horton’s than anyone else. “It’s great when we start delivering the information packages because when you stop in to the Tim Horton’s stores, the employees are already excited to be playing again and are so happy to see us,” says Kate Wattie, BBBS Coordinator. The Tim’s employees get right into the spirit of the day, coming up with hilarious and creative team names, wearing their custom bowling shirts and bringing energy and enthusiasm with them to the lanes.

This year Big Brothers Big Sisters hopes for an even better event. The event takes place on February 2nd, 2013 in Cornwall, and February 10th, 2013 in Chesterville. If you want to be a part of something BIG, please call the office today 613-933-8035.
